Pickleball – King of the Court Rules

How It Works

  • Designated court is the “King Court” (winners’ court)
  • Winning team stays on the court
  • Losing team rotates off and places paddles in the queue
  • Two new challengers rotate in to face the winners

Game Format

  • Games are played to 11 points (win by 1 or 2 – your choice)
  • Rally scoring or traditional scoring (set facility standard)
  • Keep games moving—no extended warm-ups

Rotation System

  • Use the paddle rack for challenger rotation
  • Next two paddles up split to form a team (unless you allow stacking)
  • Winners remain and switch sides if needed

Winning Limits (Recommended)

  • Optional: Teams may stay on for a maximum of 2–3 consecutive wins
  • After max wins, winners must rotate off to keep play fair

Skill Level

  • King Court is typically for intermediate to advanced players
  • Beginners should use designated open play courts

Etiquette & Pace

  • Be ready to step on court immediately when it’s your turn
  • Limit discussion—keep games fast and competitive
  • Call scores clearly before each serve

Sportsmanship

  • Respect all players and calls
  • No arguing—replay points if needed
  • Competitive but always positive and respectful
